iOS 15.7.8 and iPadOS 15.7.8 Released for Older iPhone & iPad

Apple has released iOS 15.7.8 and iPadOS 15.7.8 for older model iPhone and iPad devices that are not able to run the latest iOS 16.6 & iPadOS 16.6 updates.

The small software updates include security fixes, and are therefore recommended for all eligible users to download and install onto their devices.

Additionally, macOS Ventura 13.5, iOS 16.6, iPadOS 16.6, macOS Monterey 12.6.8, and macOS Big Sur 11.7.9 are also available as updates.

iOS 15.7.8 & iPadOS 15.7.8 Device Compatibility

iOS 15.7.8 and iPadOS 15.7.8 are available only for the following devices: iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone SE (1st generation), iPad Air 2, iPad mini (4th generation), iPod touch (7th generation).

Newer iPhone and iPad models will find iOS 16.6 and iPadOS 16.6 available instead.

How to Download & Install iOS 15.7.8 / iPadOS 15.7.8 Update

Before starting any system software update, always backup iPhone or iPad to iCloud, Finder on Mac, or iTunes/Apple Devices on Windows PC.

1. Open the “Settings” app on iPhone or iPad
2. Go to “General”, then select “Software Update”
