iOS 11 Compatible Devices List
Are you wondering which devices will support iOS 11? While iOS 11 includes a variety of new features and refinements to the Apple operating system, only certain model iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices will support the iOS 11 release.
Fortunately the compatible devices list for iOS 11 is fairly sprawling, and while a few devices did not make the list you will find that most modern iPhone and iPad hardware will support the latest release when it debuts in the fall.
The following iOS 11 compatible devices list is directly from Apple,
iOS 11 Supported Devices List
Existing iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch models that will support iOS 11 include the following hardware:
Which iPhone Models Support iOS 11
- iPhone 7
- iPhone 7 Plus
- iPhone 6s
- iPhone 6s Plus
- iPhone 6
- iPhone 6 Plus
- iPhone SE
- iPhone 5s
Which iPads Support iOS 11
- 12.9-inch iPad Pro 2nd generation
- 12.9-inch iPad Pro 1st generation
- 10.5-inch iPad Pro
- 9.7-inch iPad Pro
- iPad Air 2
- iPad Air
- iPad 5th generation
- iPad mini 4
- iPad mini 3
- iPad mini 2
What iPod Touch Supports iOS 11
- iPod touch 6th generation
Obviously if any new model devices are released while iOS 11 is around, it would be safe to assume those devices would run iOS 11 as well. For example if an iPhone 8 or iPhone 7S comes out in the fall, it would also run iOS 11 and probably ship with it preinstalled too, this would follow the typical pattern that Apple has with releasing new iPhone devices near the public release of major new system software updates.
It’s always possible the iOS 11 supported hardware list will change, but as of now it is current based on what the iOS 11 beta download will install on, and what is shown on the Apple iOS 11 beta home page.
Currently iOS 11 is available to beta testers, and iOS 11 will be released to the general public in the fall.
Mac users may also be interested to find out what Macs are compatible with MacOS High Sierra here too.
Yes you are correct it means a time will come when iPhone 5 won’t be able to download important apps
Please include I phone 5 to the iOS compatibility list
I think it’s wrong that i-phone 5s is compatible for iOS 11 and 12 and I-phone 5 isn’t compatible for iOS anything anymore. Just another way to FORCE people who are not interested in purchasing another phone. Shame on you greedy people!!
well my i pad 4 9.7 is not listed.screwed. just what to expect i suppose.
Sir I have oppo f1s is converted into iOS 11

I have an iPhone 5c and would like the new update for my phone as most of my apps can’t update to the new new model of that app. So that I have had to uninstall it because it says that I can’t use that isn app anymore until I have done the new update
Is apple able to make the IOS11 update compatible for iPhone 5c because I would like the new update and need it for new apps to download
I have iPhone 6splus
My phone is not updated to iOS 11 still
Haven’t got any link in settings ????
Thank God iPhone 5s is on the list
i am shocked my ipod 5 not get ios 11š±š±š±š±
So my mid-2010 iMac is “technically” supported until 2019 and compatible with an OS that will be supported until at least 2020.
But my iPad 4 is now considered obsolete by iOS 11 standards due to its 32-bit architecture. Am I missing something here? When did a newer computing device becoming “outdated” by an older computing device?
The thing is that PC’s generally have better hardware than Tablets so is safe to say that you cant grade a pc and tablet the same way
For PCs and macs 64-bit architecture has been available for a long time. Many were rendered obsolete back in their day too because they were 32 bit. I have an hp laptop from 2007 and it came with 64 bit windows vista. But for phones and tablets 64 bit came much later, that’s why 32 bit mobile devices aren’t as old.
That’s fantastic news, my iPad is not on the list, I will not be forced to do an update I don’t need or want.
The iPad gets the most interesting iOS 11 features. Other than Control Center and the Live Photos features I don’t see anything new for iPhone.
My Ipad is not supported, so it will keep gathering dust with the occasional use of bedside web browser. I do not know if I would buy another one, maybe if iOS 11 is really great on it?
Then you must have an ipad 4th gen or older one or an ipad mini 1. I have the first ipad air from 2013 and it’s still in the list.
