How can I uninstall the Mountain Lyon Update so I can have Java?
You don’t need to uninstall an update, just go install Java

one thing that happened after this update was that Apple site videos would not play, alleging a missing plug-in. I remembered this happening before and the cure then was to disable the 2 DivX extensions in Safari (preferences>extensions). This solved the issue today as well although I cannot explain it
