iTunes 10.7 Available for Download to Prepare for iOS 6 & iPhone 5
Apple released a minor update to iTunes today for both Mac OS X and Windows. Versioned as iTunes 10.7, the update is intended as a compatibility release for the upcoming iOS 6, and devices that will run iOS 6 such as the new iPhone 5 and iPod touches.
Unchecking the boxes and clicking the giant blue Download button is sufficient to get the update, you do not need to enter an email address.
iTunes 10.7 will also appear as an update to existing iTunes users through the app itself as well as from Software Update, those should appear shortly if you do not see them yet.
A complete redesign of iTunes is expected in October as iTunes 11, note that iTunes 10.7 is not the release with a redesign and is a minor update.

Hi Amber.
If you are using Mac OS X 10.5.x: https://osxdaily.com/2012/09/12/itunes-10-7-available-download/#comment-431405
If you are using 10.6.x, then you’ll need to update to 10.6.8 if you don’t have it.

Only took me about 6 minutes. You may have logged on at a really busy time or you computer is busy with other tasks. Restart you computer and try again. My mac doesn’t need a restart a tenth of what my microsoft did, but it still helps from time to time.
I began the download at 9:41pm last night, and alittle over seven hours later.. its STILL not done! Its ONLY about halfway done?? My internet connection is alright, and I’ve downloaded stuff before..why is it taking so long? Should I stop it and restart the download? Help? Thanks:)
I have a mac os x 10.5.8 and it says all of my software is up to date, but it wont let me download the new itunes, and it’s still version 10.6.3. Suggestions?
Hi Steven.
Before you try to update, do you have a PowerPC Mac? If you do, sorry, Apple has dropped support for it. It’s the very end of the PowerPC line, even Leopard (Mac OS X 10.5) had ended too. If you don’t, please upgrade to Snow Leopard (Mac OS X 10.6.x) or newer (Mac OS X 10.7+) to use iTunes 10.7.
Upgrading to Snow Leopard shouldn’t take too long.
So I recommend an Intel Mac with Snow Leopard, Lion or Mountain Lion.
you don’t need to uncheck the boxes, it will also work if you just hit the “Download”-button
nice !
