iOS 14 Compatibility List

iOS 14 will be available in the fall for compatible iPhone and iPod touch models. Of course, this leads many users to wonder if their iPhone will support iOS 14 when it comes out.

To make this easier for you, we’ve compiled a list of all iPhones that will be capable of running iOS 14 when it comes out. The list is fairly inclusive, so if you’ve purchased an iPhone in the past few years, you should be good to go. In addition to all the iPhones, there’s also one iPod Touch model that supports iOS 14, if you still have one of those lying around. And of course many iPad models support iPadOS 14 too, which is basically iOS 14 for iPad.

Can’t figure out if your device supports iOS 14? Look no further because, in this article, we’ll be listing out all the iPhone models that support iOS 14 officially.

iOS 14 Supported Devices List

The compatibility list below will include all the iPhone and iPod Touch models that officially support iOS 14 as confirmed by Apple. If your device is on this list, it will support the upcoming software update. If you don’t find your device on the list, it will not be able to run the latest iteration of iOS and you will be limited to iOS 13 instead.

Technically speaking, the iPad runs iPadOS rather than iOS, but since it used to be referred to as iOS many iPad users still refer to their system software that way. Accordingly, here’s the iPad models that will run iPadOS 14 (ie; iOS 14 for iPad).

As for iPhones, you’ll find this list to be identical to the iOS 13 compatibility list if you notice it carefully, except for the fact that the new iPhone SE has been added. iPhone 6s and iPhone 6S Plus owners can rejoice as they enter their fifth year of software update support from Apple and perhaps their last year of support as well.

Eligible users can download iOS 14 beta now. If your iPhone is supported and if you aren’t patient enough to wait for the final release of iOS 14 later this year, you can enroll your device in the iOS 14 public beta that’s expected to be available sometime in July. Or, if you’re part of the Apple Developer Program, you can install the iOS 14 developer beta on your iPhone right now.

It’s worth noting that beta versions of iOS are far from stable and we don’t recommend you install these updates on your primary device. More often than not, beta versions tend to have problematic bugs that may cause the system and installed apps to not function properly.

Do you use an Apple Watch alongside your iPhone? If so, you might be interested in checking out the watchOS 7 compatibility list and see if the Apple Watch model you currently own is capable of running watchOS 7 when it comes out later this year. And, if you own an iPad as well, here’s the list of all iPad models that officially support iOS 14.

We hope you were able to find your iPhone in the iOS 14 compatibility list. If not, which iPhone model do you currently use? Are you looking to upgrade in the near future to be updated on software?
