iOS 14 & iPadOS Beta 4 Download Available Now
Apple has released iOS 14 beta 4 and iPadOS 14 beta 4 to users enrolled in the beta testing programs for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
Typically the developer beta version is released first, and soon followed by the public beta release of the same build.
Interested users can participate in the public beta or enroll in the dev beta. It’s important to remember that beta system software is buggier and less stable than final versions, thus it’s only appropriate for advanced users on secondary devices.
iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 include a variety of features and capabilities, including widgets on iPhone home screen, an app library feature that makes it easy to see all apps on a device, immediate language translation functionality in Safari, a refined Messages app with some new features, and a variety of changes and improvements to other apps.
How to Download iOS 14 Beta 4 / iPadOS 14 Beta 4
The fourth beta version of iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 is available now for any eligible iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Always backup the device before installing any beta system software.
- Open the “Settings” app on iPhone or iPad, then go to “Software Update”
- Choose to ‘Download and Install’ when “iOS 14 beta 4” or “iPadOS 14 beta 4” shows as available
Installing system software updates requires a device reboot to complete.
Beta system software is less stable than final versions, thus it’s generally a good idea to only install iOS 14 beta and iPadOS 14 beta onto secondary devices. Beta system software is buggy and using it could theoretically result in data loss or other issues.
The finalized versions of iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 will be released in the fall, according to Apple.
Aside from iOS and iPadOS, Apple also released the fourth beta versions of tvOS 14 and watchOS 7, along with MacOS Big Sur beta 4.
