macOS Big Sur beta

Mac users enrolled in the beta testing program for Macintosh system software can find macOS Big Sur 11.3 beta 2 available to download.

The beta build arrives a day after iOS 14.5 beta 2 and ipadOS 14.5 beta 2 for iPhone and iPad beta testers.

macOS 11.3 beta appears to include a handful of small features and refinements, along with bug fixes. For example, the ability to print reminders lists has returned in 11.3 beta, refinements for running iOS and iPadOS apps on the Mac are being worked on, and support for PS5 and new Xbox X controllers are also included. Presumably the new Emoji icons from iOS 14.5 will also be included in macOS 11.3, which includes Emojis like a mending heart, a vaccine syringe, a woman with a beard, a coughing face, amongst others.

If you’re actively enrolled in the macOS beta testing programs, you can find macOS Big Sur 11.3 Beta 2 available to download from the Software Update section of System Preferences.

Apple usually goes through several beta builds to finalize a public release, suggesting macOS 11.3 probably won’t be available until sometime in March at the earliest.

The most recent stable version of macOS available is currently macOS Big Sur 11.2.1.
