RC of iOS 15.5, iPadOS 15.5, macOS Monterey 12.4 Available for Testing
Apple has issued a Release Candidate build for iOS 15.5, iPadOS 15.5, macOS Monterey 12.4 to users involved in the beta testing programs for Apple system software.
Additionally, new RC builds of tvOS 15.5 and watchOS 8.6, and the macOS Monterey 12.4 beta includes new firmware for the Apple Studio Display, which aims to improve the FaceTime camera quality for that screen.
No significant new features are expected in any of the releases, but bug fixes and security improvements will undoubtedly be included.
Mac users involved in beta testing can find the RC macOS Monterey 12.4 build available in the Software Update mechanism of System Preferences.
iOS and iPadOS users can find iOS 15.5 RC and iPadOS 15.5 RC through the Settings app Software Update mechanism.
Release Candidate builds typically indicate beta testing has finished, and, absent any major bugs or issues, often become the final version available to the general public. This could indicate the final release of macOS 12.4, iOS 15.5, iPadOS 15.5, et al, will be sometime next week.
