Second Beta of iOS 16.3, iPadOS 16.3, macOS Ventura 13.2 Available for Testing
Apple has issued the second beta version of MacOS Ventura 13.2, iOS 16.3, and iPadOS 16.3.
The new beta versions are available now for developers, and typically the same build is released soon after for public beta testers.
No major new features or changes are expected in iOS 16.3, iPadOS 16.3, or macOS Ventura 13.2, and thus far anyway the betas reflect that, suggesting the versions are likely going to focus on enhancements and bug fixes.
Users in the MacOS beta testing program can find MacOS Ventura 13.2 beta 2 available to download now from Apple menu > System Settings > Software Update.
Users int he iPhone and iPad beta testing programs can find iOS and iPadOS 16.3 beta 2 to download on their devices from Settings > General > Software Update.
Beta system software is buggy and less stable than final versions, making them only appropriate for advanced users and developers. Nonetheless, tracking the release of beta system software can be helpful for average users, since it can provide insight into when a future software update is coming, and perhaps which bugs or issues will be addressed upon release of the update.
Apple took a several week hiatus for releasing beta versions of system software during the holiday season, so it’s a reasonable guess that the final versions of iOS 16.3, iPadOS 16.3, and macOS Ventura 13.2 will be released in February.
The most recent stable versions of Apple system software are currently iOS 16.2 for iPhone, iPadOS 16.2 for iPad, macOS Ventura 13.1 for Mac, and MacOS Big Sur 11.7.2 and MacOS Monterey 12.6.2 for Macs running older releases of system software.
