MacOS Ventura 13.6.1 and MacOS Monterey 12.7.1 Released
Apple has released MacOS Ventura 13.6.1 and MacOS Monterey 12.7.1 for Mac users who have not yet updated to macOS Sonoma. The macOS software updates include security enhancements, and come alongside Safari 17.1 as well.
Separately, macOS Sonoma 14.1 has also been released, alongside iOS 17.1 update to iPhone, iPadOS 17.1 for iPad, iOS 16.7.2, iPadOS 16.7.2, iOS 15.8, iPadOS 15.8, tvOS 17.1, and watchOS 10.1.
How to Install macOS Ventura 13.6.1 or macOS Monterey 12.7.1
Remember, installing updates to macOS Ventura and Monterey, without installing macOS Sonoma is a slightly different process than a standard software update. Here’s what you need to do:
- Go to the ļ£æ Apple menu in the upper left corner
- Select āSystem Preferencesā or “System Settings”
- Go to “Software Update” (General > Software Update if System Settings)
- Click the microscopic blue “More Infoā¦” text under the tiny font stating that āOther updates are availableā, beneath the large macOS Sonoma promotional banner
- Select the macOS Ventura 13.6.1 or macOS Monterey 12.7.1 update, along with Safari 17.1, and choose to install those updates now
The Mac will restart to finish installation.
