Beta 3 of iOS 17.2, iPadOS 17.2, MacOS Sonoma 14.2 Released for Testing
The third beta version of iOS 17.2 for iPhone, iPadOS 17.2 for iPad, and macOS Sonoma 14.2 for Mac, have been released for users engaging in the beta testing programs for Apple system software.
Betas of iOS 17.2, macOS Sonoma 14.2, and iPadOS 17.2, includes the ability to add stickers to your iMessages from long-tap/click contextual menus. Additionally, the iOS 17.2 beta features the inclusion of the Journal app, an app that allows you to create journal entries that include text, photos, videos, voice recordings, and other media. Of course the typical bug fixes and security enhancements are also likely to be included in the final versions of iOS 17.2, iPadOS 17.2, and macOS Sonoma 14.2.
How to Download iOS 17.2 Beta 3 & iPadOS 17.2 Beta 3
Active users in the beta programs can download beta 3 by doing the following:
- Open the “Settings” app on iPhone or iPad
- Go to “General”
- Go to “Software Update”
- Choose to update to iOS 17.2 Beta 3 or iPadOS 17.2 Beta 3
Beta system software is intended for advanced users and developers, but technically anyone can opt-in and opt-out of receiving beta updates for iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 beta on their devices.
How to Download MacOS Sonoma 14.2 Beta 3
Mac beta testers can download beta 3 of Sonoma 14.2 as follows:
- Go to the Apple menu and go to “System Settings”
- Select “General”
- Choose “Software Update”
- Click on “Update Now” for MacOS Sonoma 14.1 Beta 3
Again, beta system software is intended for advanced users, but any user can opt-in and opt-out of receiving beta updates on their Mac.
Since Apple goes through multiple iterations of betas before issuing a final version, it’s reasonable to expect the final releases of iOS 17.2, iPadOS 17.2, and macOS Sonoma 14.2 will be made available to the general public either this month or next.
Currently, the most recent final versions of system software are iOS 17.1.1 for iPhone, iPadOS 17.1.1 for iPad, macOS Sonoma 14.1.1 for Mac, MacOS Ventura 13.6.1, macOS Monterey 12.7.1 for Macs not running Sonoma, iOS 16.7.2, iPadOS 16.7.2, ipadOS 15.8, and iOS 15.8 for iPhone and iPad models not running iOS/iPadOS 17, watchOS 10.1.1 for Apple Watch, and tvOS 17.1 for Apple TV.
It will be nice when they include the Journal App for the iPad in the 17.2 Beta Developer.
wheres the link for Beta 3 ?
Sadly, there’s really nothing worthwhile that’s been added to MacOS in Ventura or Sonoma that will excite anyone over 25 years old. I can do without bearded lady emojis and a dozen ways to connect to someone in the next room. How about something really useful like bringing back System Preferences. I really miss Steve Jobs.
Who needs System Preferences when we have a pregnant man emoji? A pregnant man, now that’s innovation!
