Mac40th website is a fun find for Apple fans

The Mac turned 40 this week, and if you’re still on an Apple history kick, there’s a fun website that’s worth exploring called Mac40th.

Mac40th.com showcases every desktop and portable Mac ever made by Apple in a continuous stream of Macs, displayed in random order. But it’s not just Macs, interspersed with tons of photos, you’ll find embedded Apple commercials and promo videos to watch too.

The site is super simple to browse and use, just scroll down to see a grid of Macs, and click on “Show more Macs” to expand the grid to more. Click on a thumbnail to see a bigger picture, or to watch an embedded video. Repeat til your hearts content!

The site was put together by Jonathan Zufi, who also created a coffee table book called ICONIC: A Photographic Tribute to Apple Innovation.

If you’re a fan of Apple history and the Macintosh, then the site is a fun trip down memory lane, and it’s amazing to see some of the old commercials for the Mac too, like this one for the original Macintosh:

Cheers to the folks at SixColors for the find.

    Hi,

I clicked on “more Macs” for a long time but I never did find my Clam Shell Mac laptop. Maybe it was featured in one of the video links.
