Playing Among Us on Mac

Among Us is a very popular multiplayer game where you work together with other players to identify imposters among them, before the imposter can sabotage them. You might know Among Us as being for iPhone and iPad, but you can play it on your Mac as well, whether that’s a MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, Mac Mini, iMac, Mac Studio, or Mac Pro.

The only real requirement to running Among Us on Mac is that the Mac must have an Apple Silicon chip so that the Mac can download and use iPhone and iPad games. (If you aren’t sure if your Mac is Apple Silicon or Intel, go to  Apple menu > About This Mac > Chip > if it says “Apple M1” or “Apple M2”, M3, M4, etc, then you have an Apple Silicon Mac. If it says Intel, you do not.)

  1. Download Among Us from the App Store and then click on “Open” to launch it on your Mac (Among Us will also appear in the usual places of /Applications and Launch Pad)
  2. Open Among Us on Mac after you download it

  3. Pay attention to the difference in controls since Macs do not have touch screens, in this case you use the trackpad instead of the touch screen
  4. Among Us controls on Mac are different because there is no touch screen

  5. Among Us is now running on the Mac. Start your Among Us game as usual
  6. Start your Among Us game on Mac

  7. Enjoy Among Us, right from your Mac
  8. Playing Among Us on Mac

Whether or not you prefer the gameplay of Among Us on a computer versus iPhone, iPad, Android, Xbox, Playstation, or Switch, is just a matter of your own preferences, but if you’re a fan of the game you’ll likely appreciate all the options you have to play.

By the way this trick works to play just about any iPhone or iPad game on any Apple Silicon Mac, so if you want to branch away from Among Us, you can do that with ease.
