Apple Event for September 9 2024

Apple has announced an event for the morning of Monday, September 9, at the Apple campus in Cupertino, California. Beginning at 10 AM PDT, the Apple event is expected to reveal the iPhone 16 series, including the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro.

If you were expecting a slower iPhone with a worse camera, you’d almost certainly be wrong, because you will be shocked to learn this years iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro are expected to be faster and offer improved cameras compared to the models they are replacing. Incremental annual improvements to camera and processor are the hallmark of modern iPhone launches, though there’s always room for some surprises that have not leaked into the rumor mill. iPhone 16 series will also continue to use USB-C for charging, as Apple has abandoned their Lightning port.

Aside from iPhone 16, rumors suggest that Apple Watch Series 10 will also be unveiled, along with AirPods 4. Additionally, AI Apple Intelligence features are rumored to be a significant component of iPhone 16 marketing, and presumably all iPhone 16 models from the base models to the Pro will be able to use Apple Intelligence, unlike existing iPhone 15 base models which do not support the AI features of iOS 18. The graphic for the invite looks a lot like the graphic when summoning Siri, further suggesting that AI Apple Intelligence will be a major tentpole feature.

It’s also likely that Apple will also use the event to issue official release dates for iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS Sequoia, watchOS 11, and tvOS 18.
