macOS Big Sur 11.6.2 Released
Apple has released macOS Big Sur 11.6.2 for users continuing to run the Big Sur operating system. The 11.6.2 update was issued alongside the release of macOS Monterey 12.1 for Mac users running Monterey.
The macOS 11.6.2 update includes important security updates and is therefore recommended for all Big Sur users to install.
How to Download MacOS Big Sur 11.6.2
Always backup the Mac with Time Machine before installing system updates.
- Go to the Apple menu and select “System Preferences”
- Choose “Software Update”
- Choose to “More Info” under ‘Other Updates Available
- Check the box for macOS Big Sur 11.6.2 update, and choose to ‘Install Now’
Installing macOS Big Sur 11.6.2 will require the Mac to reboot.
Optionally, users can also choose to update to macOS Monterey 12.1 if they’re ready to install the MacOS Monterey operating system.
