Beta 1 of iOS 15.4, iPadOS 15.4, macOS Monterey 12.3 Available
Apple has released the first beta versions of iOS 15.4, iPadOS 15.4, and macOS Monterey 12.3.
iPadOS 15.4 beta and macOS Monterey 12.3 beta includes support for Universal Control, which provides the ability to use a single mouse and keyboard across multiple Macs and iPads.
iOS 15.4 beta includes a variety of new features, including the official ability to use Face ID with a mask (the old mask trick method still works too), a new Apple Card widget, iCloud Keychain notes, support for EU Digital Covid vaccination passes, and new Emoji icons including a biting lip, pregnant man, melting face, salute, low battery, bubbles, beans, hands forming a heart, troll, and more.
iPadOS 15.4 beta also includes the new emoji and most of the features from iOS 15.4 beta.
Universal Control is enabled by default in the first betas. Preferences for Universal Control are found on the Mac in System Preferences > Displays > Advanced. For iPad, the settings are found in General > AirPlay & Handoff.
The new beta builds come the day after final versions of macOS Monterey 12.2, iOS 15.3, and iPadOS 15.3 were released to the general public.
Mac users who are running beta versions of system software can find macOS Monterey 12.3 beta 1 available to download now from the Software Update system preference panel.
iPhone and iPad users running beta system software can find iOS 15.4 beta 1 and iPadOS 15.4 beta 1 available to download from Settings > General > Software Update.
