MacOS Ventura 13.5.1 Update Released with Fix for Location Services Bug
MacOS Ventura 13.5.1 has been released by Apple, and it includes a bug fix for an issue where Location Services in macOS Ventura 13.5 would not display apps, preventing users from adjusting location controls and location usage permissions for particular applications. The 13.5.1 update carries a build number of 22G90.
The bug fix release apparently does not include any other fixes or security updates, making it specific for the Location Services issue in Ventura 13.5.
How to Download & Install MacOS Ventura 13.5.1 Update
First, back up your Mac with Time Machine. Then installing the update is simple:
- Go to the Apple menu, and choose “System Settings”
- Choose “General”
- Go to “Software Update”
- Choose to “Update Now” for macOS Ventura 13.5.1 to download and install the update on the Mac
You may also see an update to Safari available, if you’re running macOS Ventura, Big Sur, or Monterey.
You will need to reboot the Mac to finish installation.
A reminder that this update is only available to Mac users running macOS Ventura operating system, so if you installed MacOS Sonoma beta at some point you will not see updates to Ventura.
