World of Warcraft: Forever is currently in beta, and while you can pre-purchase the game to get early beta access to the game right now before it launches to everyone in November, there are also workarounds to install and run World of Warcraft Forever right now on a Mac or Windows PC, without any purchase or opt-in required, and that’s what we’re here to show you how to do.

For some background, World of Warcraft: Forever is a new upcoming take on the famous MMORPG. It’s basically a version of the classic 2004 game with some of those classic limitations (like a level 60 cap), but with new zones, dungeons, and storylines. The focus is intended to be on exploration and socializing and community, rather than just endless level grinding that came to define much of the modern World of Warcraft experience. This has excited a lot of gamers who have fond memories of the earlier days of the wildly popular game, so it’s understandable that many users want to play the WoW:Forever beta right now. So, let’s learn how to do exactly that.

Note you will need at least 70GB of free disk storage available to be able to successfully download and install World of Warcraft: Forever onto your Mac or PC.

How to Install & Play World of Warcraft: Forever Right Now on Mac & Windows

As mentioned before, you can get immediate access to World of Warcraft: Forever through pre-purchasing the game, but there’s actually no need to do that. Instead, you can use one of the following commands to download, install, and play the game right now.

1. Update the Battle.net app to the latest version if you haven’t done so already, then quit out of the app
2. Depending on Mac or PC, use the following command:

For Mac users, install World of Warcraft Forever now by running the following command in Terminal:

/Applications/Battle.net.app/Contents/MacOS/Battle.net --game=wow_classic_beta --install

For Windows PC, issue the following “Run” command (Windows+R, type ‘cmd’ and hit Enter) to install the WoW:Forever game right now:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Battle.net\Battle.net.exe" --game=wow_classic_beta --install



3. Keep those Terminal / command windows open as BattleNet opens and downloads the game
4. After World of Warcraft Forever installs successfully, you can then quit out of the Terminal / Run window
5. Now you can access and play World Of Warcraft: Forever directly from the regular Battle.Net app, so just launch it as usual

Class BlizzardCore_URLCache is implemented in both /Applications/Bat tle.net.app/Contents/MacOS/Battle.net (0x104ee5998) and ~/Library/Application Support/Battle.net/Versions /Battle.net.17821/battle.net-core.framework /battle.net-core (Øx11735fb58). This may cause spurious casting failures and mysterious crashes. One of the duplicates must be removed or renamed. objc[4251]: One of the duplicates must be removed or renamed.

I simply ignored that message without consequence.
