9 HD Environment Wallpapers Hidden on Apple .com to Celebrate Earth Day
Led by CEO Tim Cook, Apple has been making notable efforts toward being a more environmentally responsible corporate citizen, investing in solar farms, hydropower efforts, renewable forests, recycling programs, and other projects which are generally considered positive given that humans currently live on planet Earth and lack a backup planet (sorry, there’s no Time Machine app for Earth – but if there was… dinosaurs!).
Apple even now has a nice subsection of their website devoted to covering their environmental efforts, and like many other sections of the Apple site, it’s filled with beautiful high resolution images that can be extracted and used as some lovely background wallpaper for the Mac, iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or heck, even a Windows PC or Android.
To celebrate Earth Day, here are nine absolutely lovely HD wallpapers of various environmental related projects that Apple is participating in, directly from the Apple website.

[begin sarcasm] So, even if you sold your Apple stock because Tim Cook favors being green-ish, you absolutely hate clean air, you think fresh water is the worst, and you generally despise the environment being in any favorable condition for your grandchildren, as you cheer the endlessly unfettered and unregulated destruction of nature in a never-ending quest to push the globe towards a Nea So Copros wasteland becoming reality, you may appreciate some lovely new wallpapers demonstrating the efforts that some of the more mindful humans are currently endeavoring in! Big question is image size format, why are none of them in the standard iMac screen format, but all a more old fashioned screen of 3:2
The images are 3:2 to fit widescreen web browser screens, they’re not really intended to be wallpapers or used for much else. The pictures just happen to be a high resolution so that you can use them as desktop backgrounds if you are an enterprising fellow like Sir Paul Horowitz at OSXDaily endeavors to be.
By the way, I also enjoyed Cloud Atlas. The novel, not the movie! Of course!

Nice wallpapers, I like the wind turbines in particular. We have a big field of nearby, they’re so much bigger in person than you would expect. Go stand under one some time, they are rather amazing. And the woosh-wooshing sound is kind of surreal. Thanks.
