Apple has made the release candidate build of macOS Ventura available to users participating in the public beta and developer beta testing programs for macOS Ventura.

Release candidate (RC) builds (sometimes also called GM, for Golden Master) are typically the final version of software issued in a beta testing cycle, matching the final version available to the general public.

MacOS Ventura includes some new features and brings some changes to the Mac, including the Stage Manager new multitasking interface, the ability to use an iPhone as a webcam with Continuity Camera feature, Handoff support for FaceTime calls, abilities to schedule email sending, unsending email capabilities, features that allow users to edit and unsend Messages sent via iMessage, Safari Tab Groups, the inclusion of Weather app, Clock app comes to the Mac for the first time, and a redesigned System Preferences that looks like it belongs on an iPhone that has been renamed to System Settings, along with additional smaller changes and features.

Have you ever opened a text message or iMessage on iPhone, and then forgot to reply to it because it’s no longer marked as unread? Nearly all of us have had these situations, and that’s why being able to mark a message as unread is one of the handier new features available on iPhone.

With any iPhone running iOS 16 or newer, you can mark a message as unread, which maintains the notification badge both on the Messages icon and also the indicator next to the message itself. Marking messages as unread makes it super easy to return to messages and respond to them at a later time, just like marking emails as unread works.

You may have already seen the new default Ventura wallpaper of what kind of looks like an abstract California poppy, but in the latest versions of MacOS Ventura beta, Apple has added a new screen saver, along with more variations of the official default wallpaper to accommodate the Dynamic Wallpaper feature of MacOS that allows the wallpaper to change automatically throughout the day with the daylight and with light/dark mode.

One of the most obvious changes made to the Lock Screen of iPhone with iOS 16 is how all the notifications pile into a stack on the bottom of the locked screen.

The notifications stack is done to prioritize the lock screen wallpaper and your widgets, but not all users may be enthusiastic about the additional taps and swipes required to see your notifications, including missed calls, inbound messages, reminders, emails, push alerts, and all the other stuff that comes to our iPhones.

iOS 16.0.3 has been released as a software update for iPhone users running the iOS 16 operating system.

The iOS 16.0.3 update includes bug fixes and security enhancements to the operating system, perhaps addressing some of the problems with iOS 16 experienced by some iPhone users, whether it’s issues with Siri, Mail app crashes, battery life issues, or some of the other bugs and issues that have been reported with iOS 16.
