iOS 7.1 Beta 5 Released to Developers
Apple has released the fifth beta of iOS 7.1 to those registered with the iOS Developer Program. The new beta build arrives as 11D5145e and is compatible with all iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices capable of running iOS 7.0.
Those currently running other versions of iOS 7.1 beta can find the new version available through Over The Air update on their devices, or as a firmware download available from Apple’s developer center. The OTA version weighs in between 70MB and 250MB, depending on the device. The Developer Center also offers a new beta version of Xcode 5.1 DP5 and an updated beta version of iOS for Apple TV.
iOS 7.1 is expected to offer bug fixes, improve performance on some devices, and include a variety of feature enhancements and refinements. While no specific release date has been identified for a public launch of iOS 7.1, the typically followed beta cycle suggests it may be coming sometime within the next month.
As usual, we won’t be covering the specifics of each beta version because elements often change before a wider public release, but you can read more on MacRumors and at 9to5mac.
Tracking releases of iOS beta versions can offer insight as to when a final version may be released, but are otherwise intended for developer usage only.
