How to Find AirPods & AirPods Pro Serial Number

Need to find the serial number of AirPods or AirPods Pro? Perhaps you want to check the warranty status of AirPods, you’re going to use an AppleCare service claim, you need their serial number for insurance purposes, or for any other number of reasons that you may need the unique serial number for AirPods.

There are several ways to get the serial number of AirPods Pro and AirPods, we’ll show you the two easiest methods and offer another alternative as well.

How to Find AirPods Serial Number from AirPods

Here’s how you can find the serial number of AirPods directly from the AirPods Case itself:

  1. Open the AirPods or AirPods Pro case lid
  2. Look on the underside of the top lid to see the serial number in small gray print

It’s possible the physical serial number has rubbed off or is just too hard to read or see, so you can look also on the iPhone or iPad that you have setup AirPods or AirPods Pro with.

How to Find AirPods Serial Number from iPhone / iPad

Here’s how you can locate the AirPods serial number from the paired iPhone or iPad:

  1. Open the “Settings” app on the paired iPhone or iPad
  2. Go to “General” and then to “About”
  3. Scroll down in the About section and tap on the name of your AirPods
  4. Here you will find the AirPods model name and serial number, along with the firmware version and hardware version

Looking up the AirPods serial number directly on iPhone or iPad is pretty straight forward, and if you’re already familiar with the process of finding the serial number of iPhone or iPad then this process is likely nothing unusual to you.

Still have AirPods packaging? Find the Serial Number on the Box

If you happen to still have the original AirPods or AirPods Pro packaging and box the earbuds came in, the serial number will be located on the outside of the box.

Obviously this covers AirPods but you can get the serial number of other Apple products as well. Depending on why you’re looking for the serial numbers in the first place, you might find it useful to know that you can also get iPhone or iPad serial numbers or find a Mac serial number too. All Apple devices have a serial number, and that number is tied to the product warranty, and can also be used to lookup recalls and other details about the hardware.
