GM of iOS 13.5 & iPadOS 13.5 Released for Testing
Apple has released the GM versions of iOS 13.5 and iPadOS 13.5 to those enrolled in the beta testing programs, suggesting the final version will be released to the general public in the near future.
Separately, the final version of watchOS 6.2.5 is now available, along with the GM build of tvOS 13.4.5 for testing. Presumably MacOS Catalina 10.15.5 GM will arrive shortly too.
iOS 13.5 and iPadOS 13.5 include bug fixes and security improvements, along with a few small new feature additions including support for COVID-19 exposure logging and notifications, an ability to turn off zooming during FaceTime group calls, improvements for mask usage with Face ID, an ability to share Medical ID information during emergency calls, and some minor adjustments to the Music app.
Beta users who have devices enrolled in iOS and ipadOS beta testing programs can find iOS 13.5 GM and iPadOS 13.5 GM available to download now from the Settings app Software Update mechanism.
Those beta testing for watchOS and tvOS can find the GM updates available through those respective Software Update features too.
GM stands for Golden Master and is typically the finalized release after beta testing, which then goes on to be released to the general public. Thus, it’s reasonable to expect that iOS 13.5 and iPadOS 13.5 final builds will be released to the general public sometime soon.
Currently, the most recent stable public versions of Apple system software are iOS 13.4.1 and iPadOS 13.4.1, and MacOS Catalina 10.15.4 supplemental update for Mac.
