iOS 12.4.7 update

Apple has released iOS 12.4.7 for some older model iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices. The software update includes security updates, and is specifically aimed at models that do not support iOS 13.5 and iPadOS 13.5.

Specifically, iOS 12.4.7 supports iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 5s, iPad Air 1st generation, iPad mini 2, iPad mini 3, and iPod touch 6th generation.

How to Download & Update to iOS 12.4.7

Be sure to backup the iPhone or iPad to iCloud, iTunes, or to the Mac Finder before beginning any system software update.

  1. Open the “Settings” app on iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad
  2. Go to “General”, and then choose “Software Update”
  3. Select to “Download & Install” when the iOS 12.4.7 shows as available

Like all software updates, iOS 12.4.7 will require rebooting to complete installation.

Hi, I’m hoping you might be able to help: I have an iPhone 5s that sadly I’d never updated; now I’m trying to update to 12.4.7. Doing it through Finder on new Macbook Air with Catalina it keep saying update was corrupted during download; tried disconnecting, shutting everything including wifi down & just downloading: nothing worked. Now I’m downloading ipsw file from this post & it;’s taking forever: only 189mb after 3 hours and saying it will take 3 days. Am I doing something(s) wrong??? HELP!

Today Facebook began not working on my IPad. I get a message that this app is no longer being shared with me and I must purchase from the App Store. However, the App Store won’t allow access either. What to do? The app is working fine on my IPhone.
