Apple has issued the third beta versions of macOS Monterey 12.4, iOS 15.5, iPadOS 15.5, tvOS 15.5, and watchOS 8.6. Additionally, a beta version of the Apple Studio Display firmware has been released, which apparently aims to improve the monitors camera resolution and sharpness.

Anyone participating in the Apple system software beta programs can download the third beta of system software on their enrolled device, and the updates are available to both developer betas and public beta users.

No significant features have been found in the beta versions thus far, meaning the beta releases very well may focus on bug fixes and security enhancements, rather than adding anything new to the various operating systems.

iPhone and iPad beta testers can find iOS 15.5 beta 3 and iPadOS 15.5 beta 3 right now in Settings app > General > Software Update.

Mac beta testers can find macOS Monterey 12.4 beta 3 in  Apple menu > System Preferences > Software Update.

The Apple Studio Display beta firmware is available to Mac users after they have installed the macOS Monterey 12.4 beta 3 release on their machine, after which going to the Software Update preference panel will show the Apple Studio Display beta firmware with camera improvements. Early indicators do not demonstrate a significant change to the camera, but alas it is a beta.

Users enrolled in the tvOS or watchOS beta programs can get those updates through the respective Settings apps.

Apple usually goes through several beta builds before finalizing into a public release of system software, suggesting we’ll see iOS 15.5, iPadOS 15.5, macOS 12.4, etc, likely sometime in May.

With WWDC 2022 just around the corner, Apple is most likely pushing their system software efforts into the next major operating system releases, expected to be versioned as iOS 16, iPadOS 16, macOS 13, tvOS 16, and watchOS 9.

The latest current versions of system software available to all public users remain iOS 15.4.1, iPadOS 15.4.1, macOS Monterey 12.3.1, watchOS 8.5.1, and tvOS 15.4.1.
