MacOS Ventura Public Beta 1 Now Available to Download
Apple has released the first public beta version of macOS Ventura to any Mac user interested in participating in the beta testing program for macOS 13.
MacOS Ventura includes some new features like the all new Stage Manager multitasking capability, the addition of Weather and Clock apps, Continuity Camera to allow using an iPhone as a webcam, the ability to use HandOff with FaceTime, a redesigned System Preferences (now called System Settings), and more.
Beta system software is much buggier than stable versions of macOS, and therefore it’s not recommended to install the macOS Ventura public beta onto a primary Mac. Ideally, use a secondary Mac that is not mission critical to beta test an operating system.
If you’re interested in getting the macOS Ventura public beta on your Mac, first you will want to make sure the Mac is compatible with macOS Ventura, backup your Mac with Time Machine, and then you will want to enroll the Mac in the beta program from Apple here which will allow you to download and install the macOS Ventura beta. We’ll cover the full macOS Ventura public beta installation process in another article.
Apple has said the final version of macOS Ventura will be released this fall.
Separately, Apple released the first public beta versions of iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 as well.
