iOS 16.4 & iPadOS 16.4 Update Released to Download

iOS 16.4 and iPadOS 16.4

iOS 16.4 for iPhone and iPadOS 16.4 for iPad have been released by Apple. The software updates include new Emoji icons, security enhancements, bug fixes, and a few very minor features, like the inclusion of voice isolation support for cellular calls.

For users of older iPhone and iPad models, iOS 15.7.4 and iPadOS 15.7.4 is also available as a software update.

Separately, Apple also released macOS Ventura 13.3 update for Mac, along with software updates for MacOS Monterey, MacOS Big Sur, watchOS, tvOS, and HomePod.

How to Download & Update to iOS 16.4 / iPadOS 16.4

Don’t forget to backup iPhone or iPad to iCloud, Finder, or iTunes before beginning any system software update.

  1. Open the “Settings” app on iPhone or iPad
  2. Go to “General”
  3. Choose “Software Update”
  4. Select to “Download and Install” for iOS 16.4 / iPadOS 16.4

You will need to restart your iPhone or iPad to complete installation.

If you’re running an older device with iOS 15.x or iPadOS 15.x then you will find different updates available for those devices.

Optionally, you can also install the software updates through a computer with Finder, iTunes, or by using IPSW firmware files. Each of these methods requires the usage of a USB cable.

– Accessibility setting to automatically dim video when flashes of light or strobe effects are detected
– Fixes an issue where Ask to Buy requests from children may fail to appear on the parent’s device
– Addresses issues where Matter-compatible thermostats could become unresponsive when paired to Apple Home
– Crash Detection optimizations on iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro models
