Get Slack-style Emoji Shortcuts on Mac with Rocket
If you’re accustomed to using Slack and you find the :emoji search and shortcut tool from Slack to be convenient, you’ll really appreciate Rocket for Mac.
Rocket is a fun Mac app that brings the Slack implementation of Emoji insertion to macOS, where simply typing colon, emoji name, return, prints out the emoji.
For example, typing :thumbs up and hitting return will immediately insert the Thumbs Up emoji. Or typing :heart return will immediately insert a heart Emoji.
For Slack users on the Mac platform, this will undoubtedly be quicker than using the Mac Emoji keyboard shortcut of Command+Control+Space.
If you’re not coming from a Slack using background, but you still use a lot of Emoji, you’ll still likely find it quicker than accessing the built-in Emoji tools in MacOS.
The free version of Rocket just works with Emoji, but there’s a paid version of Rocket that offers gifs as well, if you really want to closely mimic the Slack experience.
So Slack users, grab Rocket on your Mac and have some fun! 👍🤟🥷
