iOS 17.7.1 & iPadOS 17.7.1 Available for iPhone & iPad
Apple has released iOS 17.7.1 and iPadOS 17.7.1 for iPhone and iPad users who are not running iOS 18, which was just updated to includes support for Apple Intelligence with iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1.
The software updates include important security fixes, making them important updates to install if you’re still running the prior major version of iOS/iPadOS. No new features are included.
iOS 17.7.1 and iPadOS 17.7.1 are specifically compatible with iPhone XS and later, iPad Pro 13-inch, iPad Pro 12.9-inch 2nd generation and later, iPad Pro 10.5-inch, iPad Pro 11-inch 1st generation and later, iPad Air 3rd generation and later, iPad 6th generation and later, and iPad mini 5th generation and later.
Separately, iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, MacOS Sequoia 15.1, macOS Sonoma 14.7.1, macOS Ventura 13.7.1, tvOS 18.1, watchOS 11.1, and visionOS 2.1, are also available as updates.
How to Update to iOS 17.7.1 & iPadOS 17.7.1
Always backup your iPhone or iPad to iCloud and/or your computer before installing a software update.
- Open the “Settings” app on iPhone or iPad
- Go to “General”, then choose “Software Update”
- Select to “Update Now” when you see iOS 17.7.1 or iPadOS 17.7.1 as available
The device must restart to complete installation as usual.
You can also update a device with a computer or by using IPSW firmware files to update manually.
