MacOS Sequoia 15.7.3 & MacOS Sonoma 14.8.3 Security Updates Released

If you’re a Mac user who is continuing to run the MacOS Sequoia or macOS Sonoma operating systems, you’ll find updates available as MacOS Sequoia 15.7.3 and macOS Sonoma 14.8.3. These are security update focused and do not introduce any changes or new features. Safari 26.2 is also available as an update to these MacOS versions.
Separately, Apple has released macOS Tahoe 26.2 update (For the curious Sequoia and Sonoma users, Tahoe 26.2 remains flawed and buggy making it difficult to recommend Tahoe at all). Apple has also released iOS 26.2 for iPhone, ipadOS 26.2 for iPad, watchOS 26.2, tvOS 26.2, visionOS 26.2, and iOS 18.7.3 and iPadOS 18.7.3 for iPhone and iPad users avoiding the iOS 26 updates, so you’ll want to update your other Apple devices.
How to Download & Install MacOS Sequoia 15.7.3 & MacOS Sonoma 14.8.3 Update
You will want to backup your Mac with Time Machine first, this preserves your data and also allows you to downgrade easily if you need to.
- From the Apple menu go to “System Settings”
- Go to “General” and then go to “Software Update”
- Ignore the aggressive MacOS Tahoe 26.2 banner at the top of the Software Update screen, and instead look further below to where MacOS Sequoia 15.7.3 and macOS Sonoma 14.8.3 are shown as available, and update that instead *

* Note: Be careful if you click the (i) button to get more information, because Apple automatically selects macOS Tahoe 26.2 if you do this. You will need to uncheck Tahoe 26.2 and deliberately check MacOS Sequoia 15.7.3 or MacOS Sonoma 14.8.3, and double-check those are selected, to avoid accidentally installing the macOS Tahoe 26.2 release.
MacOS will require a reboot to install the updates.
