Apple has released another new supplemental update to macOS Mojave 10.14.6. The supplemental software update includes bug fixes, security enhancements, and performance improvements, and is therefore recommended for all Mac users running MacOS Mojave to install. The new supplemental update will bring macOS 10.14.6 to build 18G95.

Specifically, the new supplemental update aims to fix an issue where some Mac laptops would shut down during sleep mode, and it also resolves a performance issue when dealing with large files. Additionally, an issue that prevented Pages, Numbers, Keynote, iMovie, and Garageband from updating has been resolved. The full release notes are included further below for those interested.

Additionally, Apple also released iOS 12.4.1 for iPhone and iPad, along with small updates to watchOS and tvOS.

If you have created a new APFS volume on a Mac for some purpose, perhaps to run a different version of MacOS on, you may eventually wish to remove that volume from the APFS container.

Deleting an APFS volume removes all data on that volume and is irreversible, so make sure that you are targeting the proper volume to delete, and be sure you have sufficient backups of any data you want to preserve.

A jailbreak for iOS 12.4 has surfaced and is now available using an application called “unc0ver”. The jailbreak exploits could also be used for more nefarious purposes by unscrupulous individuals, and is therefore best to avoid for the vast majority of iPhone and iPad users.

The unc0ver application works to jailbreak any iPhone or iPad running iOS 12.4 with any A7 through A11 device, meaning any iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch that has one of those processors and that is running iOS 12.4 can use the jailbreak on that device. That includes iPhone X, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 8, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone SE, iPhone 5s, iPad (2017), the original iPad Pro models, iPad Air, and several other devices.

Jailbreaking an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch circumvents the on-device security to allow for modification of system software and installation of third party software, and it can cause various serious security issues, stability problems, and other problems with an iOS device, and is therefore not recommended.

Ever had your Mac get stuck on the screen saver? This can happen sometimes and when it does the Mac is unusable since the screen saver is quite literally stuck activated.
