A Simple and Cheap iPad Stand

Many of us have been looking for a nice and simple iPad stand, preferably a good one that is also affordably priced since it remains to be seen how useful they are.

Now we may have a prospect, as James sent us in this picture of the Logitech Alto Express Notebook Stand being used as a “perfect stand for the iPad” that apparently makes “typing 100x faster and easier.” Not bad considering it’s $10-$25 either if you get it on the sale price.

But of course Amazon has so many iPad stands available that you should sort through the list yourself and see which is best for you. The options grow by the day, as iPad popularity blooms.

Yes, its for a ‘notebook’ but apparently it works fine for the iPad as well. Maybe it is a worthwhile try? I know there are many other iPad stands out there, many are simple, but few are cheap, and some are nearly a quarter the price of the iPad itself which seems a little extreme for something to rest it on.

Maybe some day Apple will release their own iPad stand? In the meantime, consider trying this one out, and if you find another good prospect you should let us know in the comments.

Another option is to go the DIY iPad stand route, which is what my fellow coworker Paul Horowitz does – he uses a piece of fruit sometimes. Indeed, an edible piece of fruit, the orange sticks well to the case according to him, but I think I will stick with a real stand. What is your choice? Do you use your cat as an iPad stand?

I have that Alto stand and it absolutely sucks as an iPad stand. What were you thinking? Do you actually own one or is it hearsay?
