Beautiful Wooden iPad 2 Cover

Mar 24, 2011 - 3 Comments

Are you looking for a gorgeous wood cover for your iPad 2? Check out Miniot‘s offering, it has all the features of Apple’s magnetic smart cover except that it’s made from beautiful wood.

If the appearance wasn’t enough to grab you, it’s priced at €50, which is actually cheaper than the official Apple leather smart cover for iPad 2. Now, if I can ever find an iPad 2 in stock somewhere on planet Earth, I’ll buy one of these in a heartbeat.

Check out the video of the Miniot Wood Cover in action:

As you can see, the behavior is just like the smart cover and you can peel it back and use it in all the same positions. Personally, I find this much more attractive than the flamboyantly colored plastic covers or the leather covers from Apple.

The Miniot Cover for iPad 2 is available starting March 25 and costs €50 (about $71) which includes free engraving. The company is based in Holland, but we emailed them to see if they’ll ship to the USA. I’d expect interest in this thing to be really high, so hopefully they will send it across the pond. Better yet, maybe Apple will see the product and pick it up for distribution in their Apple Stores?

Daryl found this via TUAW, thanks for the submission!

That is really quite nice looking, but it also reminds of those placemats you find at Cost Plus and IKEA
