Apple has released the first beta versions of iPadOS 13.4.5, iOS 13.4.5, macOS Catalina 10.15.5, and tvOS 13.4.5.

The new beta builds of the various Apple operating system are available now to users enrolled in the beta testing programs. Typically a developer beta rolls out first, soon followed by a public beta.

Presumably iOS 13.4.5 beta, iPadOS 13.4.5 beta, macOS Catalina 10.15.5 beta, and tvOS 13.4.5 beta all focus on bug fixes and security enhancements, and no new major changes or features are expected.

iPadOS 13.4.5 beta 1 and iOS 13.4.5 beta 1 are both available to download now through the Settings app “Software Update” mechanism on an eligible device.

macOS Catalina 10.15.5 beta 1 is available to download now from the System Preferences Software Update section on a Mac enrolled in the beta testing programs.

tvOS 13.4.5 beta 1 is available to download through the Apple TV settings app.

Something curious to note is that the beta versioning has skipped ahead multiple releases, being labeled as iOS 13.4.5 and ipadOS 13.4.5 rather than iOS 13.4.1 and ipadOS 13.4.1. This could suggest interim .1 and .2 releases are expected to be issued in the near future before the finalization of 13.4.5, or it could be a simple versioning mistake.

The most recent stable versions of system software for Apple devices are currently iOS 13.4 for iPhone and iPad, iOS 12.4.6 for older iPhone and iPad, macOS 10.15.4 Catalina for Mac, Security Update 2020-02 for Macs with Mojave and High Sierra, tvOS 13.4 for Apple TV, and watchOS 6.2 for Apple Watch.
