Apple October 2020 event

Apple has announced an event for Tuesday, October 13 at 10:00 AM PDT.

While Apple does not state the reason for the event, it is widely assumed to be when iPhone 12,o and perhaps some other products services will be announced.

Rumors surrounding iPhone 12 suggest the device will come redesigned with flatter edges to more closely resemble the iPad Pro lineup, and arrive in three different sizes, with 5.4″, 6.1″, and 6.7″ OLED displays. The new iPhones are also expected to have 5G cellular connectivity, faster processor performance, and improved cameras.

Of course all of this is technically based on rumors, but it’s worth pointing out that Mark Gurman at Bloomberg has an extremely good track record of accurately forecasting and detailing Apple products and events, and the aforementioned Bloomberg article offers further information on what to expect for those who are curious to get a sneak peak.

It’s possible other smaller products or services will be announced at the October 13 keynote address as well, though the new iPhone 12 is sure to be the tentpole announcement.

For Apple fans that enjoy watching product keynotes and presentations of new product releases, Apple has set a placeholder link on YouTube here. and the same placeholder has been embedded below as well.

Apple also has an event webpage available for online viewing as well.

I’m thinking lack of Wow with this event. No rumors about a impending Mac ARM and a 5G iPhone will probably be the biggest notable feature since we know what IOS 14 contains. Just incremental hardware improvements which won’t move the bar much. Might actually see a drop in price though given the pandemic. But no ARM Mac til next year because we would have rumblings of it in production if indeed it was coming soon.

It disappoints and underwhelms me as well, but mostly because the PWM in LED and OLED screens make me (and 27% of other people) have eye strain, headache, and feel nauseous. It all goes away when you stop using those screen types and use LCD instead. Losing the LCD screen is a big problem for those of us, not sure if I will just keep the last LCD iPhone I have or have to eventually abandon the platform if this is not resolved.

How does Apple not know PWM with OLED is a serious issue for a large number of people?

Hopefully there is an update on the new ARM MacBooks release date. Just the thought of running iosx software on a MacBook will improve my creative digital graphic world and drop adobe for good.
