Beta 2 of iOS 16.2, iPadOS 16.2, and MacOS Ventura 13.1 Available for Testing
The second beta versions of iOS 16.2 for iPhone, iPadOS 16.2 for iPad, and macOS Ventura 13.1 for Mac have been released to users participating in the beta testing programs.
Typically the developer beta is available first and soon followed by the same build being released to public beta testers.
iOS 16.2 Beta 2 & iPadOS 16.2 Beta 2
Beta 2 of iOS 16.2 includes support for a medication widget and sleep widget for the lock screen, and both iOS 16.2 and iPadOS 16.2 include support for the Freeform app, which is a collaborative canvas app that allows sharing doodles and notes that are tagged according to which user added them. Additionally, iPadOS 16.2 adds support for Stage Manager using external displays on M1 or better iPad models.
iPhone and iPad users who are currently enrolled in the beta testing program for system software can find the latest beta update available from Settings > General > Software Update.
MacOS Ventura 13.1 Beta 2
MacOS Ventura 13.1 beta likely focuses on bug fixes, but also includes support for the Freeform collaborative canvas app that is also on the iPhone and iPad beta releases.
MacOS users who are participating in the beta system software testing program can find MacOS 13.1 beta 2 available as a download from the Apple menu > System Settings > Software Update.
Apple usually goes through multiple beta versions of system software before releasing a final version to the general public, and some recent rumors suggested that Apple is targeting a December release timeline for iOS 16.2, iPadOS 16.2, and macOS 13.1, which would make sense with the current release schedule and Thanksgiving break towards the end of November.
The most recent stable versions of Apple system software are currently iPadOS 16.1 for iPad, iOS 16.1 for iPhone, and macOS Ventura 13.0 for Mac.
