How to Share a Reel / Post to Your Story on Instagram
Ever found a great reel or post that you want to share to your own story on Instagram? That’s pretty easy to do, but you’d be forgiven if you tried to do this and failed by using the Sharing menu. Of course it would make sense that to share a reel or post you would use the sharing button, right? No, that’s not how sharing reels and posts to your story works on Instagram however.
We’ll show you how you can reshare a reel or share a post you find on Instagram to your own story.
How to Share a Reel or Post to Your Story on Instagram
- Find the reel, video, or photo you want to post to your story on Instagram
- Tap the paper airplane icon
- Tap “Add Reel to Your Story” or “Add Post/Video To Your Story”
- Tap the arrow button to confirm you want to share the reel/post
- Tap Share
You can also tap on “Your Story” to immediately post it there, or “Close Friends” to immediately share it to your Story but only with those you defined as close friends.
If you feel like spicing it up further, you can add music to your stories, which can be a fun way to add some audio depth to your shares.
And if you don’t want feedback on your stories, remember you can always disable replies to your Instagram Stories.
