How to Hide Instagram Following & Followers List
You can hide your Instagram following and followers lists, if you’d like to add some additional privacy to your account and your Instagram experience.
With the method we’ll cover here, your Instagram followers and following lists will be hidden from all Instagram users who you have not approved to follow you.
The only caveat is that to hide your Instagram following and followers lists, you must turn your profile to private mode, which means that other Instagram users who are not your allowed followers / friends can not access your profile.
How to Hide Instagram Followers & Following Lists
Hiding your Insta lists is pretty simple:
- Open Instagram if you haven’t done so yet
- Tap your profile icon in the bottom right corner to access your profile page
- Tap the three lines button in the top right corner to access menu options
- Tap on “Settings & Privacy” from the list
- Tap on “Account Privacy”
- Toggle the switch for “Private Account” to the ON position to hide your following and followers list
- Confirm that you want to make your account private and hide your profile details from the general public
With this option enabled, your followers list and following list will be hidden from the general public and anyone on Instagram who is not your approved follower / friend. Now only people who are your followers/friends on Instagram can see your following list as well as your followers list.
When your account is set to private, all Instagram users who you have not specifically allowed to follow you or added as a friend will no longer be able to see any of your account details, beyond the number of posts you have made, and numbers of followers and following – but beyond that they can not see any specifics. They can not see your posts, they can not see your followers list, they can not see your following list, and they can not see your Stories, Reels, status, or anything else you post.

Another approach to hide your followers and following lists from specific people that does not entail making your profile private, is to just block the Instgram user who you do not want to see your lists for. This will prevent them from seeing anything about you on Instagram from their blocked account, though they could always make another different or new account and see your posts (and followers/following lists) from there, unless you set your profile to private.
