MacOS Tahoe 26.7.1 & MacOS Sequoia 15.8.1 Security Updates Released
Apple has released MacOS Tahoe 26.7.1 and MacOS Sequoia 15.8.1 as security updates for Mac users who are still running those operating systems. MacOS Tahoe 26.7.1 and MacOS Sequoia 15.8.1 include security updates only and no other changes.
Separately, Apple also released MacOS 27.0.1 Golden Gate, iOS 27.0.1, iPadOS 27.0.1, iPadOS 26.7.1, and iOS 26.7.1.
How to Download & Install MacOS Tahoe 26.7.1 or MacOS Sequoia 15.8.1 Update
You will want to backup your Mac with Time Machine prior to starting the updates:
- From the  Apple menu choose “System Settings”
- Go to “General”, and then go to “Software Update”
- Look below the “MacOS 27” banner for “Other Updates” where you can select “MacOS Tahoe 26.7.1” or “MacOS Sequoia 15.8.1” to update instead
The Mac must restart to finish update installation.
