Beta 3 of iOS 17.1, iPadOS 17.1, and MacOS Sonoma 14.1

Apple has released the third beta versions of iOS 17.1, iPadOS 17.1, and MacOS Sonoma 14.1, for users who are enrolled in the beta testing programs for Apple system software.

As usual, the betas are first available to developers, and then are soon followed by the same build for public beta testers.

Apple announced several features that didn’t make the cut in the initial releases of iOS 17, iPadOS 17, and MacOS Sonoma 14.0, so it’s likely that iOS 17.1, iPadOS 17.1, and MacOS Sonoma 14.1 will include some of those missing features, along with bug fixes, and other enhancements and refinements to the operating systems.

How to Download iOS 17.1 Beta 3 & iPadOS 17.1 Beta 3

  2. Go to “General”
  3. Go to “Software Update”
  4. Select to update to iOS 17.1 Beta 3 or iPadOS 17.1 Beta 3, depending on your device

If you don’t want to receive beta updates like these, but you were part of the earlier beta programs for iOS 17 and iPadOS 17, you can opt-out of beta updates for iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 beta on iPhone or iPad at any time. Similarly, if you do want to receive the beta updates, you can opt-in at any time.

If you have opted out of MacOS Sonoma beta updates then you will not see this update available, but you can opt-in again at any time if you’re interested.

Apple typically goes through multiple versions of beta system software before issuing a final version. Thus, it’s assumed that final versions of iOS 17.1, iPadOS 17.1, and MacOS Sonoma 14.1 will be available later in the month, or perhaps next month.

The latest stable versions of system software available to the general public are currently iOS 17.0.3, iPadOS 17.0.3, iOS 16.7.1, iPadOS 16.7.1, and MacOS Sonoma 14.0.
