watchOS 8 Compatible Apple Watch Models

Apple Watch Models Supporting WatchOS 8
According to Apple, the following Apple Watch models can run watchOS 8:
- Apple Watch Series 3
- Apple Watch Series 4
- Apple Watch Series 5
- Apple Watch Series 6
- Apple Watch SE
This is the same list of Apple Watch models able to run watchOS 7.
Apple also notes that watchOS 8 must be paired with an iPhone that is running iOS 15 or later too, so you’ll probably want to see what iPhone are compatible with iOS 15. Basically the iPhone 6s or newer with iOS 15 will be able to work with watchOS 8.
watchOS 8 Release Set for Fall 2021
Apple has said that watchOS 8 will be available in fall of 2021.
Fall 2021 is the same timeframe of release for iOS 15, iPadOS 15, and macOS Monterey.
watchOS 8 public beta begins July 2021
In case you were wondering about the public beta for watchOS 8, that is set to begin in July.
Installing beta versions of system software onto Apple Watch is a bit dicier than running beta versions on other hardware though since you can’t restore or downgrade yourself, so beta testing is not recommended for most Apple Watch users.
