Redsn0w 0.9.6rc15 Download is Available Now for Jailbreaking iOS 4.3.3
Redsn0w 0.9.6rc15 has been released to jailbreak iOS 4.3.3 untethered on any of the following compatible hardware: iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 GSM, iPod touch 3rd Gen, iPod touch 4th Gen, iPad (original, not iPad 2), and Apple TV2. For those wondering, iPad 2 is still not jailbreakable.
As usual, you’ll need to download iOS 4.3.3 IPSW for your corresponding device before getting started. The iOS 4.3.3 updated focused on alleviating the tracking cache bug, and otherwise offers no feature enhancements.

The Dev Team notes that if Windows users are having problems running redsn0w, that they should set CPU affinity to 1. Additionally, running Redsn0w in XP Compatibility mode can help alleviate some errors. Mac users don’t have to worry about any of this.
Alongside the new version of redsn0w are updated versions of PwnageTool for creating customized IPSW, and a new version of the ultrasn0w unlock. Be aware that the ultrasn0w update relies on the preservation of old baseband and is not considered a new unlock.

if i update redsnow .9.6rc15 to .9.6rc16 will that be ok?
why is it that the ipad 2 cant be jailbroken?
Good question. iPad 2 has fundamentally different system architecture (new A5 CPU vs A4, etc) that is thus far not vulnerable to existing jailbreak methods. This forces the Dev Team (and other in the JB community) to start from scratch, but progress is being made and a jailbreak will almost certainly be available in the near future.
How come this cydia sign is blank, i tried jailbreaking it again and putting it into tethered mode but it stayed like that.

Just open Cydia and download something you need like installous or whatever and your Cydia icon will be normal.

My Itouch came with 4.3.3 >.< (I got it two days ago)
I tried search "IPSW" in my C and D drives and I can't find it.
You have to download the IPSW file separately. Read the instructions and follow the links.

Thank you for a wonderful tool. Jailbreak worked, and Installed Cydia and booted Tethered.
However, I do not seem to have a Network connection anymore or Wireless ..

ice, if you are using a compatible version of iOS, I would suggest using jailbreakme, it is the easiest and most reliable method. It’s also not tethered.

Thanks for the tip M, and quick reply. iOS was 4.3.3.
Installed Cydia with redsn0w and booted tethered and had the above mentioned problem.
Installing ultrasn0w from cydia fixed it.
For others, check your baseband, mine was 06.15.00 and it worked.

Have been trying several versions of redsnow (rc14-16, including the new betas) and i’ve updated my ipad2 twice to 4.3.3, with two different download sources. every time, redsnow says it doesnt recognize ipsw. what to do?
also just read that ipad 2 is unjailbreakable… i know several people who have their ipad 2 jailbroken, or unlocked. i don’t know the difference, anybody help me out?
